Late for ChatGPT.

Who we are

Late.me ("Late", "we") is provided by Buggenheim AB, Sweden, the controller responsible for your personal data. Organisation number: 559274-3008. Registered address: Hjärnegatan 8, 11229 Stockholm, Sweden. This policy covers the Late app for ChatGPT, which lets you save selected stories from a ChatGPT conversation into your own Late.me account. Our general principles are described on our Trust page.

What the app does

When you ask ChatGPT to save something to your Late, ChatGPT shows you what it will send and asks for your confirmation. Only after you approve does it send that one piece of text to late.me.

The app cannot read your ChatGPT history. It only receives what ChatGPT sends in that single, approved action.

What we receive and store

The title and text of the story you approved, and any optional details ChatGPT includes (an approximate time, people and places mentioned).

Technical origin information: that it came from ChatGPT, the time it was received, the tool used and an identifier for the connected app.

Your late.me account identity, established when you signed in and approved the connection. We never receive your ChatGPT password, cookies or OpenAI API keys.

How we use it

Your text is saved unchanged as a private original in your Late, clearly marked as imported AI-conversation material rather than verified autobiography.

Late may suggest memories based on it (for example people, places or moments). Suggestions stay "suggested" until you confirm, correct or hide them in My Late. Nothing inferred becomes fact without your approval.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train public or general AI models.

Processors

Data is stored on our cloud infrastructure. Generating suggestions uses an AI model provider acting on our behalf, solely to process your request. OpenAI processes the conversation within ChatGPT under OpenAI's own privacy policy.

Who can see it

Only you. Saved stories are private to your account and protected by access rules so that the connection acts only as you and only on your account.

Retention and deletion

Saved stories remain in your Late until you hide or delete them. You can ask us to delete your account and all its data at any time by writing to hello@late.me.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect at any time by removing the Late app in ChatGPT's settings. After that, ChatGPT can no longer send anything to your Late. Stories already saved stay in your Late until you remove them.

Your rights

Under European data protection law (GDPR) you can access, correct, export, restrict or delete your personal data, and object to processing. Contact hello@late.me. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

The app is not intended for people under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date below, and tell you in advance of any significant change.
