Terms

Gift terms

These terms apply when you buy a Late.me gift for someone, and when that person redeems it. Please read them before you pay.

Last updated 9 October 2026

1. Who you buy from

Late.me is a service provided by Buggenheim AB, Sweden. Organisation number: 559274-3008. Registered address: Hjärnegatan 8, 11229 Stockholm, Sweden. Questions about a gift, an order or these terms: hello@late.me. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

2. What a gift is

A gift is a single, one-time purchase. It never renews, and the person receiving it is never billed. A gift gives the recipient their own Late.me account or adds to it. It never gives the buyer, or anyone else, access to the recipient's memories, recordings or conversations.

Prices are shown in euros and include VAT where VAT applies. The final amount, including any tax, is shown before you confirm payment.

3. Gifts and how long they're valid

  • A Year of You (12 months of Living) or More of You (12 months of Living Plus). Redeem within 36 months of purchase. The membership starts on the day it's redeemed, lasts 12 months, then simply ends. It does not turn into a paid subscription.
  • Guided or Extended Life Interview. The recipient redeems the gift and books a video interview with one of our interviewers within 24 months of purchase. Once a time is booked, changes are made by us. Write to hello@late.me and we'll move it.
  • Conversation minutes (30, 90 or 300). Redeem within 5 years of purchase. Minutes are a fixed number of minutes, never unlimited. They are used only for conversations with Late in the recipient's own account, while that account is active, and are not exchangeable for money.
  • Personal Biography and Biography + Video. Offered by quotation only. Nothing is charged until you accept a written quote, which sets out its own terms.

The exact redeem-by date is printed on each gift card. An unredeemed gift expires on that date. If something gets in the way, write to us before then and we'll do our best to help.

4. Gift codes and cards

Each gift has a unique code, shown on a printable and a digital card. Anyone holding the code can redeem it, so keep it as you would a voucher. If a code is lost or used by mistake, contact us and we'll look into it. Codes cannot be resold.

5. Redeeming

The recipient signs in or creates a free Late.me account with their email and redeems the code. A gift takes effect only after payment has been confirmed and the gift has been redeemed. What the recipient says and saves is theirs, as described in our privacy notice.

6. Withdrawal and refunds

If you live in the EU, Norway or another EEA country, you have a 14-day right to withdraw. The details for each kind of gift, and how to use the right, are on our withdrawal and refunds page. Your statutory rights, including for faulty or undelivered services, are never limited by these terms.

7. If we can't deliver

If we cannot provide what a gift promised, for example an interview we can't schedule within the booking period, we will offer a new time or refund the unused part in full.

8. Complaints and law

Please write to hello@late.me first. We aim to answer within 5 working days. If we can't agree, consumers in Sweden can turn to Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN, arn.se), and consumers in Norway to Forbrukerrådet. These terms follow Swedish law, without taking away the protection given by the law of the country where you live.
